SR Cross Country

Croft races

Another new race in our area! Congratulations to Isabel Mordue who was 2nd senior lady in the 5K and to Heather Hodgson, first FV50 in the half marathon.

NYSD Cross country

Swaledale Runners rejoined the North Yorkshire & Durham Harriers League for the 2023/24 season after an absence of over 20 years. Incredibly at the final race on home turf in Richmond Swaledale ladies emerged as league winners, ahead of Stockton Striders in second and New Marske Harriers in third. Several ladies will also be receiving medals in their individual age groups: Isabel Mordue (senior women, 3rd equal); Jess Young (vet 35 women, 1st); Helen Burrell (vet 60 women, 1st); Helen Nicholson (vet 60 women, 2nd); Martha McBarron (vet 65 women, 1st ).

Middlesbrough half marathon

Seven Swaledale runners took part in this inaugural race – a great one for our racing calendar in the future.

Eskdale Eureka

Well done to Tim Grimwood who won his age category and came 5th overall and to Martha McBarron who picked up an age category prize.

Ice Ultra

Emma Roper had the adventure of a lifetime when she completed the Ice Ultra in Swedish Lapland. This involved running 230K over 5 days in temperatures down to -30, carrying all her food. Not only did Emma complete the event, but she came home in triumph as second female!

Seville Marathon

Ultra specialist Keith Wigley smashed the previous club marathon record when he ran a blistering time of 2.26.55.

Cross country Whitby

In the fifth match of the NYSD cross country season Swaledale ladies came first in a very competitive field. With just one match to go, excitement is building for the overall results!

Fountains Abbey Parkrun

Our C25K group (Swaledale Shufflers) have graduated! Well done to them and thanks to all the club members who supported them. Martha McBarron was top of the field when sorted by age-grading, with a club age-group record.

Brass Monkey Half Marathon

Three Swaledale Runners took part with great results: Rachel Ridley 1.42.03 (PB), Zabi Dashwood 1.50, 29 (PB), Grace Gilpin 1.53.52
